March and almost a quarter of the year behind us already. Did anybody notice where January and February went?
As the year progresses it becomes time for the major exhibitions, the first of which for the B&B and guesthouse industry is Hostex that this year is being held in Johannesburg and which is normally very well attended.
As usual BnB SURE will be there along with 250 exhibitors and we look forward to saying hello to any establishment owners or managers and brokers who will be visiting the show. It takes place from Sunday 13 March to Wednesday 16 March at the Sandton Convention Centre.
ELECTRONIC POLICY WORDINGS
We mentioned in our February newsletter that we have our policy wording available in electronic format so that both brokers and policyholders can have an easy to store and file electronic copy. The response has been tremendous with brokers asking for policies in this format as more and more companies big and small go "paperless". The beauty of this format is that the wording can be emailed to clients if they need it and it is very easy to move around the document – in fact easier than on a hard copy document.
A lot is being seen in the media right now about "going green" and "sustainability". We came across a frightening statistic recently that by the year 2050 there will be 10 billion people on Planet Earth. Terrifying thought when one considers that we are battling to sustain the 6.5 Billion we have now.
Let's do our bit by not cutting down trees to produce paper, something like 80% of which is never used after being printed.
CLAIMS INFORMATION
A reminder that brokers are able to access the claims notes off our system at any time an update is required, saving time sending emails to the BnB SURE branch concerned to ask for claims updates. Our notes are kept up to date daily. In the event that brokers have not yet registered for this service simply send an email to Rachel@bnbsure.co.za and give her the brokerage name and the name and email address of the person who will be accessing the notes and she will come back to you with instructions and passwords.
BnB SURE CYCLING TEAM
We are thrilled to announce that BnB SURE now has its very own cycling team in the Eastern Cape with the captain Taeke van den Bosch putting his team through their paces in races around the province and beyond. The big one for them this year will be the "Trans Baviaans" 24 hour mountain bike marathon which is on 13 August 2011 from Willowmore to Jeffrey's Bay. That sounds like very hard work!!!!!!
BnB SURE CLUB
The popularity of the Club is growing all the time since the introduction of the competitions late last year. The savings available to policyholders by using the club can in some instances be more than their premium for the month! That happened to one of our policyholders who used the car hire facility for a guest. It's difficult to get less expensive insurance than that and the insured doesn't forfeit cover to get these savings. The competition that is about to close has a prize worth R3700 and that is also a lot of premium – all because the insured is using what they have on BnB SURE.
